Sieges

Jump to: navigation, search

A "siege", in Empire Strike, is the name given to successive attacks (after the Protection Hours) on the same city of any empire in the game.

To make this strategy of attacking the same city several times possible, there is the option of Siege Espionage. The espionage, serves to obtain valuable information of the current situation, i.e. levels of troops defending it, percentage of conquest, etc. of the city you want to attack again.

Without this tool the siege of a city becomes almost impossible, since its owner can perfectly vary the amount of troops and even if we look for it at different levels, we might not find it or it has just been attacked by another empire causing us to engage in a fruitless search and a waste of turns.

Espionage]], like any movement in Empire Strike, has its cost in turns. That is why it is necessary to learn how to use it. Also, when deciding whether to siege a city or not, it is necessary to take into account the race you are playing with, since not all races have the same effectiveness in espionage. The Elves for example, never fail (only one exception to this rule: cities of the ruling clan of region 22 on the map Gaia) and the Dark Elves have an effectiveness of 85% in espionage. This is why with both races it is very convenient to know how to use espionage wisely. With other races it can be quite a big expense of turns since many times the espionage can fail and not give us information of the city you want to attack (No info).

Tips

  • It is not useful to do the siege espionage if the Protection hours of the game have not passed (or if at least it has not passed almost all the time, it can always be done a few minutes before the limit to attack it just when the protection ends), because if we do it too early we run the risk that the target empire changes the defense a few minutes before the end of its protection time.
  • Always keep in mind that the number of troops that informs us is the exact number of troops that the city has, when we go to attack it we must remember that it can be attacked by heroes that have up to /-10% more troops so it will be useful to add that 10% to the troops that were informed in the espionage and charge that amount of troop levels to our hero (advantage of the attacker). If you put more than 10% of the troops that the city has in defense, when trying to attack it you will not be able to see it as a target.
  • When choosing (due to shortage of turns) some of the cities to attack again, it is best to look at both the population and the probability of conquest it has.
  • Each successful attack on a city lowers its morale, and the lower the morale, the higher the probability of conquest.
  • Siege spies can be shared within the clan, so that other empires can follow the sieges if we run out of turns or not enough troops or you yourself can benefit from a recent report from another empire of your clan.
  • If your siege report lists the city as "in protection" it means that the empire has used fame to put it on alert for 24hs.
  • If you lose an attack, don't worry, you will be able to spy it again later to try again with a new formation of troops.
  • Targets disappear from spying after 5 days from the last time they have been attacked.
  • If you are at war with another clan and it launches Forget memories, you will lose all the information of your last attacks made/received and therefore the possibility to perform siege spying.
